Dallas, TX — July 15, 2024, Kendall Williams was injured as the result of a car accident at around 3:15 a.m. along Royal Lane.
Initial details from authorities indicate that the accident happened near the intersection of Royal Lane and Inwood Road.

Authorities said that 30-year-old Kendall Williams was a passenger in a Nissan Maxima going eastbound along Royal. That vehicle somehow left the side of the roadway where it crashed into a boulder, then overturned. As a result, Williams was reportedly thrown from the vehicle, resulting in serious injuries. The driver apparently wasn’t injured.

Regardless of what happened here, it’s a red flag when only one person in a vehicle is seriously injured, especially when the other person supposedly wasn’t hurt at all. Could it be that there was something that failed to protect the victim, such as a faulty seatbelt or seat assembly? Frankly, that’s not the sort of thing authorities tend to look into.
For example, I handled a case not long ago where authorities found a victim outside of their seat following a crash, so they assumed the victim just wasn’t wearing their seatbelt. When there was actually a proper examination of the vehicle, though, it came to light the seatbelt’s pretensioner failed, causing the victim to be thrown from their seat despite properly wearing their seatbelt. That’s a major issue that authorities simply let slip through the cracks.
It’s possible there were circumstances not included in these statements that could explain what happened here without anything unusual like a defect. But if investigators aren’t even considering that possibility, I’d hesitate to call any conclusion they make reliable.
