Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
When it comes to motorcycle wrecks, one of my primary concerns is if the crash is actually getting the attention it needs. Too often, people overlook accidents like this because they have a negative view of motorcyclists. Even the authorities are susceptible to this.
That’s why it’s often prudent to have independent investigators looking things over. Their priority is to focus on the facts, so there’s no room for bias to warp the story at all. Ultimately, they may show that authorities did a good job and didn’t let bias get in the way of the evidence. Other times, though, they can show that there were crucial details preliminary investigations overlooked. Either way, the end result should be the victim’s loved ones knowing they’re getting the whole story.
