Coyanosa, TX — January 6, 2023, Jose Torres sustained fatal injuries due to a workplace accident that happened along Tipton Road.
Officials with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration released preliminary information surrounding the fatal accident. Their statement listed the location of the incident as 5120 Tipton Road, which is just off F.M. 1776 outside of Fort Stockton.
According to the OSHA summary, 29-year-old Jose Torres was working in the area of a skid steer, though the nature of the activity Torres was engaging in at the time wasn’t specified. The skid steer apparently fell for unspecified reasons, striking Torres.
Torres succumbed to fatal injuries. There were no other identified injured employees. OSHA statements list the company subject to the investigations as Security Fence & Construction Co. Inc. There were three alleged violations listed in the summary as well as a listed recommended penalty of $21,876. The status of the investigation is still “Open” at the time of writing.
