Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
At this time, authorities listed unsafe speeds as a possible contributing factor. The damage they described could be explained by high speeds, but with so few details, I’d caution anyone against jumping to conclusions. Authorities made no mention of things like tire conditions, mechanical issues, road hazards, alcohol, medical emergencies, issues with lighting or signage, etc. Even if something seems unlikely, getting a victim’s loved ones the full story means ensuring no stone goes unturned. It’s not clear right now if authorities have given this crash that sort of dedicated attention.
