Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

If it’s true authorities were able to get custody of the hit-and-run driver’s vehicle, that usually means it’s just a matter of time before they find the driver. Did that ever happen here? And if it did, did authorities investigate beyond mere hit-and-run charges? A lot of the time, people leave the scene of an accident because there was something specific they didn’t want authorities to know about. This can significantly change what accountability looks like for a serious accident. Ultimately, victims and families deserve to know there will be appropriate consequences following a serious accident.
