San Antonio, TX — February 16, 2025, a child sustained injuries as the result of a hit-and-run accident at around midnight along SW Loop 410.
According to initial details about the accident, it happened in the area of Valley Hi Drive on northbound lanes of the access road.
It appears that a 6-year-old child was a passenger in a Mazda going along the Loop 410 service road. While doing so, a pickup going westbound reportedly ran a red light. This resulted in a collision.
Due to the collision, the child in the Mazda sustained serious injuries. No other injuries were reported. Authorities say that three people exited the pickup and fled the scene on foot. It’s unclear if any suspects have been identified.

Going forward, my hope is that authorities will release more information about this accident to the public. This might include a specific description of the vehicle, possible descriptions of the suspects, or video evidence of the crash or moments leading up to it. Oftentimes, someone is able to connect the dots and come forward to help authorities identify someone. Once that happens, there can be steps to see consequences of the accident itself as well as whatever it was that led the suspects to flee. But that all begins with getting answers, and I would hope authorities would trust the community more to help them to that end.
