Accident Report

January 16, 2026, a man sustained injuries due to a hit-and-run accident at around 4:46 a.m. along the Eastex Freeway.

Authorities were called to the area of Eastex and Aldine Bender Road north of Houston. It appears that a 27-year-old man was in a Ford F-150 going southbound along the freeway. Another vehicle was going the same direction when the vehicles collided. That other vehicle then reportedly left the scene.

Due to the crash, the man from the Ford was seriously injured. No other injuries were reported. It’s unclear at this time if authorities have located the runaway driver.

How Did This Accident Occur?

It’s challenging to answer that question fully without identifying and speaking with the driver who left the scene. If that hasn’t happened yet, authorities may need to release more details to the public. A lot of the time when hit-and-runs reach a conclusion, it’s because someone in the community helped authorities after seeing reports in the news or on social media. Once that happens, steps can be taken to find out why the driver fled and if that had something to do with the crash (drunk driving, for example). Every moment counts, so the sooner authorities utilize the public, the better their odds of finding the runaway driver.
