Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

The cause of the crash has not been confirmed, though it wouldn’t surprise me if some folks jumped to conclusions anyway. The unfortunate reality is despite many motorcyclists being safe drivers, a lot of people assume they’re all reckless. Obviously, mistakes can happen. But it’s troubling how often I’ve worked on a case where people blamed a motorcyclist only for evidence to come to light that showed factors beyond their control led to the accident. Whether or not that’s what happened here, it’s important there is as much evidence as possible so there’s no room for people to fill in the gaps with their own hasty assumptions.
