Presidio County, TX — May 12, 2025, Francisco Herrera was killed as the result of a car accident at around 7:00 a.m. along US Highway 90.
According to preliminary investigations about the accident, the crash happened a couple of miles west of Marfa.
Investigators said that 52-year-old Francisco Herrera was in a Nissan Altima going eastbound along US 90. For reasons which are not clear right now, the vehicle lost control and crashed along the highway.
Francisco Herrera was killed due to the accident. There did not appear to be anyone else involved in the accident. No further information is available at this time.

Did anyone look into whether a defect—like failed brakes, steering issues, or even malfunctioning airbags—played a role in the severity of the crash? And just as important, was electronic data like the Engine Control Module, phone activity, or camera footage collected before it could be lost?
Asking these questions early can make the difference between getting a partial picture and having a clear understanding of what truly happened. If authorities can provide clear answers, they’re likely taking the investigations seriously. If not, though, then it gives families a chance to seek out more thorough investigators.
