Sidney, NE — May 5, 2023, a woman was killed and two teens were injured following a tractor-trailer accident Friday afternoon along Old Post Road.
According to preliminary details provided by the Cheyenne County Sheriff’s department, the crash happened at the intersection of Old Post Road and Link 17J (Upland Parkway/I-80 JCT) in the Sidney area.
Right now, the exact circumstances leading up to the collision are still unclear. Authorities said that a tractor-trailer and a four-door car crossed paths and collided at the intersection. As a result of that collision, a woman riding in the car sustained fatal injuries. Two others in the vehicle, identified only as “high school age females,” were transported to an area hospital with injuries not said to be life-threatening.
No other injuries were reported to the public following the crash. Right now, authorities say that the driver of the tractor-trailer involved may face charges for Motor Vehicle Homicide. There was apparently an arrest made. No further information can be confirmed at this time.
