Garland, TX — March 27, 2023, two people were killed due to a car accident along South First Street at Washington Street.
Authorities said that the incident happened at around 7:20 a.m. in the area of South First Street and Washington Street, just off West Miller Road.

Right now, the cause of the crash remains unclear. Officials said only that a pickup and a car collided, resulting in two fatalities. It’s unclear if there were other injuries. Police say one person faces charges due to the crash, but they did not specify what those charges were for.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Around this time in the morning, it’s not exactly common to see charges filed. It could be for just about any reason, from drunk driving to warrants to reckless driving to drugs. It’s possible the charges don’t even relate to the crash itself.
But my concern with these details is whether or not those potential charges are going to be a distraction. I’ve often seen situations where authorities find someone to charge, and they simply overlook all other aspects of a crash. For victims and families in need of answers, this can leave them without unanswered questions. Hopefully authorities here are able to be more thorough so the victim’s loved ones get clear answers about what led to this crash.
