Atascosa County, TX — October 3, 2024, Ethan Koonce was injured in a single-vehicle car accident at approximately 10:00 p.m. along U.S. Highway 281.
According to authorities, 26-year-old Ethan Koonce was traveling in a southbound Toyota Tacoma pickup truck on U.S. 281 in the vicinity about three-quarters of a mile southeast of Leal Road when the accident took place.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, the pickup truck failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. After veering out of the lane it was reportedly overcorrected, losing control as a result. The pickup then overturned, rolling an unknown number of times before coming to a stop resting on its right side.
Koonce suffered serious injuries due to the wreck, according to reports. He was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
