Plano, TX — November 21, 2023, Elzie Monroe McDonald was killed in a plane crash at about five o’clock in the evening along Park Boulevard.
According to authorities, the plane came down in a parking lot near the intersection of Park Boulevard and Midway Road.
Reports state that the pilot and sole occupant of the Mooney M20, 87-year-old Elzie Monroe McDonald, was in the middle of executing a “go-around”—which essentially means that he had aborted an attempt to land—when the plane crashed. It collided with an unoccupied van in the parking lot of the shopping center, but the only victim of the accident was McDonald, who was killed as a result.
