Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

People think car accidents are simple just because they’re common. A proper accident reconstruction, however, requires asking unique questions. For example, why was only one person seriously hurt here? It could be that normal circumstances can explain this, but did authorities inspect the victim’s vehicle for defects? If some sort of safety feature didn’t work properly, it may have led to otherwise avoidable serious injuries. Maybe authorities here were thorough enough to rule that out, but that’s the sort of thing that needs to be considered if investigators are going to tell the whole story.
