Austin, TX — August 11, 2024, a pedestrian was killed following a car accident at approximately 2:30 a.m. along Interstate Highway 35.
According to authorities, one person was on foot in the southbound lanes of Interstate Highway 35 in the vicinity between 3rd Street and 4th Street when the accident took place.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the pedestrian was struck by a southbound motor vehicle. The victim suffered critical injuries due to the collision and emergency personnel attempted life-saving measures; however, they were ultimately unable to overcome the severity of their injuries, having been declared deceased at the scene.
