An investigation is underway following a car accident that left one person dead during the evening hours of February 23rd. According to official reports, Eduardo Mendez was travelling in a Toyota Camry in the northbound lanes of Hwy. 71 when for unknown reasons, the Camry struck the rear of another vehicle, causing the Toyota to lose control and go off-road and strike a tree before then catching fire.
