Guilford County, NC — February 18, 2026, one person was injured following a dual 18-wheeler accident before 3:00 a.m. along Interstate 40.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the accident happened along eastbound lanes of the interstate in the area of Mt. Hope Church Road, east of Greensboro.
Right now, the cause of the crash remains unclear. Officials said that two 18-wheelers were traveling along the interstate. Somehow, the two trucks crossed paths and collided. Due to this, at least one person was taken from the scene with unspecified injuries.

A commercial truck accident is complex enough when there’s just one truck involved. Two is only going to raise additional challenges. One that’s often overlooked is how the companies involved will fight tooth and nail over who’s to blame. Meanwhile, the truck drivers hurt in the crash tend to get lost in all the noise.
