Gaines County, TX — April 30, 2024, David Rosalez was fatally injured due to a car accident at around 9:40 p.m. along US Highway 62.
The crash happened between Hobbs and Seminole at the intersection of US 62/US 180 and County Road 237/335.
Investigators said that 19-year-old David Noel Rosalez was in a vehicle going eastbound along the highway. Authorities say the vehicle somehow went off-road where it crashed into a pole. Due to this, David Rosalez was killed.
Authorities did not report anyone else being involved in the accident. At this time, additional details are unavailable.

There are still plenty of unanswered questions in the public statements on this crash. I can only hope authorities were thorough behind the scenes to get the family some clarity, and I especially hope the victim’s age didn’t bias those efforts.
Unfortunately, I’ve seen instances of authorities jumping to conclusions when an inexperienced young driver is involved in a crash. Ultimately, it should be up to the evidence to say what happened, and that only comes through careful, thorough, unbiased accident reconstruction. Did that happen here?
