Lockhart, TX — May 22, 2023, David Mercado was injured due to a tractor-trailer accident at about 8:14 a.m. along San Antonio Street.
Officials gave initial public information surrounding the crash which says that it occurred at the intersection of San Antonio Street and Cesar Chavez.
Preliminary statements said that 71-year-old David Mercado was behind the wheel of a Chevy pickup that was going eastbound along San Antonio Street. At Cesar Chavez, authorities believe that tractor-trailer going southbound failed to yield at a stop sign. As a result, Mercado’s vehicle and the semi-truck crashed.
Mercado’s injuries were said to be incapacitating following the collision. A woman in the vehicle was said to be possibly injured, but it was not confirmed one way or another. There were no other reported injuries. Right now, factors leading up to the collision cannot be confirmed pending further investigations.
