Hockley County, TX — April 11, 2024, David Gooch and one other person were injured in a car accident just before 8:45 a.m. along State Highway 114.
According to authorities, 69-year-old David Gooch was traveling in a Ford F-150 in the inside of the two westbound lanes of S.H. 114 in the vicinity of the Mason Road intersection when the accident occurred.
Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, a Chevy Silverado pickup truck occupied by an 18-year-old woman collided with the rear-end of the Ford pickup. The collision caused the Ford to veer to the left where it entered a median area and overturned. It came to a stop resting on its wheels and facing east in inside eastbound lane of the highway.
Gooch suffered reportedly severe injuries due to the wreck and the woman from the Silverado was moderately injured, as well. They were each transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment.
Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
