Houston, TX — June 4, 2023, one person was fatally injured due to an apparent wrong way accident early Sunday along the Southwest Freeway.
According to information given by authorities, the incident took place sometime before 6:57 a.m. (which is reportedly when the scene was reported as cleared) along eastbound lanes of U.S. 59/I-69.
Authorities at this time have released few details about what happened. Their statements currently say only that a vehicle was going the wrong way when it somehow left the travel lanes. This sent the vehicle into the barrier between the main lanes and the HOV lanes.
As a result of the crash, one person was reported deceased. Authorities did not identify that person nor their exact involvement in the accident. No other injuries were reported. Right now, no further information can be confirmed.
