Accident Report
Polk County, TX — March 7, 2026, Christopher Morante II was killed in a truck accident at about 11:30 a.m. on Hesperides Road/State Road 60 east of Lake Wales.
Authorities said a 2012 Ford Fusion tried to make a U-turn after turning onto the highway from County Road 630 when it was hit by an eastbound Peterbilt semi-truck.
Ford driver Christopher Joseph Morante II, 22, of Barefoot Bay died after being transported to a local hospital, according to authorities.
The truck driver was not injured, authorities said.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the Polk County crash at this time.
