San Antonio, TX — December 2, 2021, Christopher Lucas was fatally injured due to a crushing accident at a work site located along Calmon Park.
Occupational Safety and Health Administration officials released an investigation summary regarding the incident. The company listed in the report is San Antonio Portable Storage, and the incident apparently happened in a residential area off the corner of Cedar Park and Prue Road.
According to preliminary statements, 30-year-old Christopher Lucas was working with a PODZilla lifting system at the time. The setup was on an incline, and the frame somehow went down the incline, investigators say. This resulted in Lucas becoming trapped between the frame and the bed of a truck. Due to this, Lucas sustained fatal injuries.
Right now, no further information can be confirmed definitively. The OSHA statements show there is at least one possible violation investigators looked into. It’s unclear at this time if there was ever a penalty issued or paid. It’s also unclear if the accident is still being investigated.
