Sherman, TX — April 10, 2023, Christopher Cavender was killed due to an accident where a motorcycle crashed along FM 1417.
Preliminary details from authorities say that the crash happened late Monday in the area of FM 1417 and FM 691. In a series of events still under investigation, 40-year-old Christopher Brooks Cavender was on a motorcycle traveling along FM 1417. At the crossing, the motorcycle somehow crashed with a pickup, ejecting Cavender.
Cavender sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash. Two adults and a child in the other vehicle were said to have non-life-threatening injuries. The adults were identified as Rodney Ricketts and Laurie Ann Gaddis. Additional details are unavailable.

This soon after a deadly crash, the last thing anyone should do is jump to conclusions. Considering how often motorcycle wrecks can lead to hasty assumptions, there’s only more reason to make sure that all the facts come to light here before anyone says they think they know what happened. In time, further investigations will no doubt get clear answers about what all led up to the collision, and the evidence will be allowed to speak for itself. Hopefully authorities are hard at work to ensure that happens here.
