Houston, TX — February 19, 2024, Celia Marie Ortiz-Sulpacio was killed following a pedestrian versus car accident just after 3:30 p.m. along West 14th Street.
According to authorities, 94-year-old Celia Marie Ortiz-Sulpacio was on foot crossing Heights Boulevard in a crosswalk at the West 14th Street intersection when the accident occurred.
Officials indicate that a Chevrolet Suburban SUV that was westbound on 14th Street attempted a left turn onto southbound Heights Boulevard at an unsafe time, failing to yield the right of way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. The Suburban struck Ortiz-Sulpacio, who incurred reportedly fatal injuries as a result.
