Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

If those allegations are true, what I have yet to see from authorities is if they’re looking into where the teenager got the alcohol from. If it was a business or licensed establishment, it’s important to find out.

Here’s what makes businesses serving unlawfully so much more serious than just an ordinary individual mishandling alcohol. I know from experience litigating against bars that if an alcohol provider is breaking one law, there’s a good chance they’re breaking multiple. Without accountability, they’ll just continue putting others’ lives at risk until someone sees they’re held accountable for their actions.
