Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

Generally speaking, a vehicle hitting someone in a parking lot tends to be the result of inattention. With a possible emergency response, though, things can get a bit more complex. I have to wonder if authorities are able to get their hands on any video evidence that might show how avoidable this all was. Otherwise, it may take more careful investigations to reconstruct the events leading up to the collision. It’s important the victim’s loved ones know the whole story, which means ensuring authorities don’t just write this off as an unavoidable accident without knowing the facts.
