However, it’s something can occasionally point to defects in a victim’s vehicle. For example, I had a case not that long ago where a victim’s injuries weren’t actually due to a crash. They were the result of a defective seatbelt. Had the seatbelt functioned properly, the victim likely would have been fine.
I bring this up because defects too often fly under the radar. Authorities sometimes become so focused looking into more common factors that they overlook less obvious ones.
