Navarro County, TX — February 3, 2024, two people were injured in a car accident just after 10:00 in the morning along U.S. Highway 287.
According to reports, a 42-year-old man was traveling in a westbound Ford Expedition SUV on U.S. Highway 287 approaching the Spur 294 intersection when the accident occurred.
Officials indicate that, for unknown reason, a southbound Kia Sedona on Spur 294 failed to yield the right of way to highway traffic, entering the intersection at an unsafe time. Though the SUV attempted to avoid the collision, but was ultimately unable. This resulted in a crash between the front end of the SUV and the front left side of the Kia.
The 51-year-old woman who had been the sole occupant of the Kia incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the crash. The man from the SUV apparently sustained minor injuries, as well. Both victims were transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment.
Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identities of the victims—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
