How Did This Accident Occur?

People might be quick to assume the driver must have made a mistake here. I can’t say one way or the other if this was due to a mistake from the driver, hazards in the road, a vehicle defect, some other reckless driver that left the scene, or any number of other possibilities I’ve seen throughout my career. The point is that I don’t make conclusions unless there is evidence to back up that conclusion. I encourage others to do the same. That’s why I hope there’s been a thorough investigation here so that there’s as little room for doubt as possible. If authorities moved on too quickly, that might lead to undue speculation rather than actually getting the victim the help they need.
