There’s not a lot of information available right now, but it sometimes surprises people how much authorities can leave out of their investigations. Sometimes, it’s just them being reserved and only working behind the scenes to get answers. Other times, they’ve already moved on to responsibilities they feel are a higher priority. That can leave victims and families in a place where they still have questions or are left wondering how to tell their side of the story. In my experience, independent accident reconstructions are generally more reliable in that regard. They can help pick up any slack authorities may have left behind so that nothing important slips through the cracks. It could be that this crash would benefit from those efforts, as well.
