How Did This Accident Occur?
There are many reasons that two vehicles going the same direction on a highway might collide. Some common factors can include unsafe speeds or distracted driving. Less common factors I’ve seen are things like tire failure, bad lighting, vehicle defects, and medical conditions. Common or not, though, these factors deserve attention from experienced investigators. That alone can prove challenging, though.
One common issue families can run into is finding out their situation wasn’t really treated as a high priority. A lot of the calls I get about car accidents cases isn’t people looking to go after someone else but rather just feeling they’ve been left in the dark with unanswered questions. Sometimes, police departments simply feel crash investigations are low on their list of things to do, so details start to slip through the cracks.
Through independent investigations, victims and families can help ensure they’re getting the full story. Likely factors and unlikely ones alike can get proper attention so there’s as little room for doubt as possible. The sooner that happens, the more evidence can be preserved for the path ahead.
