Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

With single-vehicle wrecks, it’s always important to consider whether or not authorities actually took things seriously. That’s not to say anything about this specific accident but rather authorities don’t often prioritize single-vehicle accident investigations. It can lead them to overlook more complex circumstances. Did the vehicle have a defect? Was the driver illegally over-served by a bar? Are there issues with the roadway itself, such as missing signage or lighting? Was there another vehicle involved that left the scene? Likely or not, it’s important to consider these possibilities if folks are going to get any kind of fair resolution.
