Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

If investigators suspect alcohol played a role in this crash, it’s critical to determine whether the driver who may have been impaired was served alcohol at a bar, restaurant, or other establishment. Under Texas dram shop law, alcohol providers can be held accountable if they over-serve an obviously intoxicated person who later causes harm. Not only does those harmed by those actions deserve to see accountability, but also there should always be steps to make the roads safer whenever possible.
