How Did This Accident Occur?

People tend to assume single-vehicle wrecks are always driver error, and they’re a lot more likely to believe this when a teenager is behind the wheel. I’m certainly not going to pretend that’s not the most common explanation for a crash like this. But without proper investigations, there’s no way to rule out something unusual or unavoidable.

For instance, have authorities inspected the vehicle’s braking system? I get car accident cases all the time where it turns out authorities never bothered to inspect a victim’s vehicle for potential defects? This can lead to serious oversights, as defects are rarely obvious. They usually require thorough inspections from experienced professionals with state-of-the-art equipment designed specifically for investigating potential defects. That often just rules out possible defects, but it’s not worth the risk of missing a serious defect that could be putting others in danger.

That’s just one example, and I’m sure a lot of readers could share their own experiences of how something unavoidable led to a crash like this one. At the end of the day, it’s up to the evidence to say what happened. If no one is looking for that evidence, it may be lost.
