Douglas County, TX — April 30, 2024, a woman was injured following a car accident at approximately 9:30 a.m. along Old Highway 99.
According to authorities, a woman was traveling in a southbound pickup truck on Old Highway 99 in the vicinity of Deady Crossing when the accident occurred.
Officials indicate that the pickup truck may have been driving erratically in the time leading up to the wreck. It reportedly veered off of the side of the road for some distance before returning to the roadway. There, however, it struck a septic truck that had been northbound on the highway before coming to a stop.
The woman reportedly became entrapped in the pickup truck and had to be extricated by emergency personnel. Once freed from the aftermath, the woman was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive treatment for the reportedly serious injuries she suffered as a result of the accident. No other injuries have been reported.
