Tarrant County, TX — January 1, 2025, a driver sustained fatal injuries following a single-vehicle car accident at around 3:03 a.m. along U.S. Highway 377.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the accident happened near Hawkins Home Boulevard southwest of Benbrook.
According to officials, a man was in a Honda Accord going southwest along the highway. For reasons unclear, the vehicle lost control and ran off the side of the road where it crashed into a tree. As a result of the accident, the driver was fatally injured.
There did not appear to be anyone else involved in the accident. Factors surrounding the crash are unclear at this time.

Did they check for possible vehicle defects? Brake failures, steering malfunctions, or safety equipment issues could have played a role. Was the vehicle properly inspected before any evidence was lost?
Did they secure all electronic evidence? The vehicle’s Engine Control Module (ECM) may have recorded key data, and GPS or surveillance footage could provide further insight. Were investigators careful to preserve this information?
