Cross River, NY — January 15, 2025, eight people were injured in a bus accident at about 3:45 p.m. on Old Post Road/State Route 35.
Authorities said a bus was headed east on Old Post Road when its driver tried to avoid colliding with two cars stopped in front of it. It clipped one car before crashing into a tree.
All eight passengers in the bus were hospitalized after the crash with minor injuries, according to authorities. The bus was operated by Ability Beyond, an organization that serves people with disabilities.
No other injuries were reported.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the crash. No charges or citations have been issued as the investigation continues.
