Comal County, TX — December 19, 2024, Brett George and two others were killed in a single-vehicle car accident shortly before 9:15 p.m. along I.H. 35.
According to authorities, 21-year-old Brett George, a 25-year-old man, and a 29-year-old man were traveling in a Ford Mustang in the vicinity of the I.H. 35 service road and York Creek Road intersection when the accident took place.

Details surrounding the accident remain scarce. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the Mustang was involved in a single-car collision. It apparently struck a fence and overturned over the course of the accident. All three people who were in the vehicle at the time of the wreck suffered fatal injuries, according to reports. Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
When accidents result in multiple fatalities, it is critical to conduct a thorough investigation to determine how and why the crash occurred. In my experience, understanding the factors behind a single-vehicle collision like this requires careful attention to three key questions.
First, did the authorities thoroughly investigate the crash? Single-vehicle accidents involving loss of control, fence impacts, and rollovers raise immediate questions about what led to the crash. Investigators should examine physical evidence such as tire marks, debris, and the vehicle’s final position to reconstruct the sequence of events. Witness statements or any available surveillance footage could also provide critical context, helping clarify whether speed, distractions, or external conditions played a role in the loss of control.
Second, has anyone considered whether a vehicle defect might have contributed to the crash? Mechanical issues, such as brake or steering failures, could cause a vehicle to veer off course or lose stability. Additionally, given the severity of the crash and the vehicle’s rollover, it is important to examine whether the Ford Mustang’s safety systems—such as seat belts, airbags, and structural integrity—functioned as designed to protect its occupants. A forensic examination of the vehicle is essential to rule out or identify any mechanical problems that may have influenced the crash or its outcomes.
Finally, has all relevant electronic data been collected? Modern vehicles like the Ford Mustang are equipped with event data recorders (EDRs) that capture crucial information about speed, braking, and steering inputs leading up to the crash. This data can help determine whether the vehicle’s movements were consistent with driver input or indicative of a mechanical failure. Additionally, if surveillance cameras or dashcams captured the moments before the crash, they might shed light on external factors such as other vehicles, obstacles, or road conditions that contributed. Securing this evidence promptly is vital to preserving key details.
Accidents involving severe outcomes, such as fatalities, require comprehensive investigations to uncover all contributing factors. By addressing these questions, investigators can work toward providing a clearer understanding of what happened and why. A thorough investigation is the least that can be done to ensure every possible factor is carefully examined. For the loved ones of Brett George and the others who lost their lives, obtaining these answers is an essential step toward understanding and closure.
