Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

Even if a medical incident did lead to this accident, it’s important to know that investigations still have to occur. For all anyone knows, the serious injuries here were the result of something like a faulty airbag rather than the crash itself. I too often have families come to me with cases where authorities took the most surface-level explanation they could get and called it a day. Then, more thorough independent investigations showed that all kinds of important details slipped through the cracks. Maybe that’s not what happened here, but keeping that in mind can be a vital step to preventing it from happening.
