Montgomery County, TX — December 24, 2024, a bicyclist was killed as the result of a car accident at around 3:30 a.m. along Highway 105.
In preliminary statements, authorities said that the incident happened off the corner of the Highway 105 and F.M. 1485 intersection on the east side of town.

It appears that a man in his 20s was on a bicycle going along the eastbound lanes of the highway. While doing so, a Ford F-250 going eastbound reportedly made an unsafe turn, striking the cyclist. Authorities say the vehicle left the scene, but details suggest authorities identified the driver.
Due to the collision, the bicyclist was killed. Authorities say they recommended a charge for accident involving death against the Ford driver.

If the accusations here are true, then it’s at least a positive step forward that authorities have a suspect. If they indeed left the scene of the accident, they can face whatever consequences are appropriate for their actions. However, there could be more to the story. When people knowingly leave the scene of the crash, it’s rarely out of panic alone. More often, there’s something specific they didn’t want authorities to know about. Were they drunk? On drugs? Do they have warrants? Whatever happened, the victim’s loved ones deserve to know there will be full accountability for what happened to their loved one.
