Surprise, AZ — April 3, 2023, one person was injured following an accident where a semi-truck hit a bicyclist along 147th Lane.
Investigators said that the incident happened at around noon in the area of 147th Lane and Cactus Road. Officials said that a semi-truck somehow hit a bicyclist, but they did not specify what led to the collision. As a result, the cyclist involved was taken to a hospital with reportedly serious injuries. No one else seemed to be injured. No further information is available.

Perhaps there has been more information behind the scenes that would inspire some confidence that there will be answers for what happened here. My concern, though, is thinking back to situations involving non-standard vehicles like motorcyclists, bikes, mopeds, scooters, and other such vehicles. Those operators don’t always get the benefit of the doubt that drivers of typical vehicles get. As such, there can be important details that slip through the cracks if particular steps aren’t taken to catch those details. Hopefully authorities here will prove to be prudent enough to handle that and ensure the full story here is clear.
