Richardson, TX — November 13, 2024, Benito Martinez was injured as the result of a car accident at 9:03 p.m. on the President George Bush Turnpike.
Initial details about the accident say that it happened along eastbound lanes of the toll road near Renner Road.
Investigators said that 31-year-old Benito Martinez was in a GMC Sierra going eastbound along the turnpike. While doing so, the vehicle somehow left its lane and crashed into the median barrier. As a result, Benito Martinez sustained serious injuries.
Authorities did not confirm any other details about the accident.

With single-vehicle wrecks, there can be a concern about how thorough authorities were in their investigations. They often put these kinds of wrecks low on their list of priorities, and that can lead them to move on before they’ve really given a crash the attention it deserves. A proper accident reconstruction should be able to consider anything from tire blowouts to vehicle defects to road hazards to lack of lighting or signage. Likely or not, it’s the evidence that should have the final say. That’s why when people feel authorities aren’t focusing on gathering that evidence, they may feel there needs to be a second set of eyes looking things over.
