Harris County, TX — October 26, 2024, an Austin teen was injured following a hit-and-run accident at around 4:56 a.m. along Mathis Road.
Investigators said that the accident happened near the intersection of Mathis Road and Ravenwood Lane.
According to officials, an 18-year-old Austin woman was on foot at the time along the side of Mathis Road. While there, it appears that a northbound vehicle struck the woman. That vehicle then reportedly left the scene.
The victim was taken from the scene with serious injuries. Right now, details about the suspect vehicle are unavailable.

With any hit-and-run, one of the most important things authorities can do is release as much information to the public as possible. Often, someone is able to connect the dots and come forward to identify the driver. Then, steps can be taken to find out why the driver left the scene, as there’s usually something they were trying to hide from authorities besides the accident itself. Even weeks or months following an accident, there’s still hope of reaching a conclusion.
