Harris County, TX — May 27, 2024, a child was killed following a drowning accident at around 7:23 p.m. in an apartment swimming pool off Greenhouse Road.
Initial details about the accident say that it happened at the Radius West Apartments in west Houston off the corner of Greenhouse Road and Park Row Drive.
According to officials, several people were at the apartment complex pool at the time. In a series of events still under investigation, a child around 3 or 4 years old ended up in the pool. The child ultimately drowned as a result. No one else was hurt.

I certainly don’t know more about this accident than what’s been made public, but it’s always important to be thorough in the investigations. Writing things off as simply an unavoidable tragedy could allow important factors to slip through the cracks. I’ve seen swimming pool accidents happen due to things like malfunctioning pumps, exposed electrical wires, and other hazardous conditions that an initial investigation from authorities isn’t likely to consider. Whether or not something similar happened here, it’s important there’s as much evidence possible telling the story.
