Bastrop County, TX — June 7, 2024, Anthony Jasek and one other person were injured in a car accident shortly before 2:15 p.m. along State Highway 71.
According to authorities, 72-year-old Anthony Jasek was traveling in an eastbound GMC Yukon SUV on S.H. 71 at the Green Acres Loop intersection when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a Toyota Camry occupied by a 64-year-old man traveling southbound at the intersection attempted to enter the eastbound lanes at an apparently unsafe time, failing to yield the right of way at a yield sign. This resulted in a collision between the Toyota and the GMC.
Both Jasek and the man from the Camry suffered reportedly severe injuries as a result of the wreck; they were each transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
