May 16, 2026, a woman was injured following an alleged intoxicated driver accident around 12:30 p.m. along San Pedro Avenue.

Investigators said that a 32-year-old woman was in a vehicle going through the light at San Pedro and Fresno. While doing so, authorities allege that an intoxicated driver ran the light and crashed into her vehicle.
The woman reportedly had non-life-threatening injuries. The other driver reportedly was arrested on charges including DWI. Investigations are ongoing.
How Did This Accident Occur?
If it’s true that an intoxicated driver ran a red light here, this all may seem pretty open-and-shut. Though, people may be surprised to see an intoxicated driver this early in the day. On a Saturday, however, people can be intoxicated at all times of the day.
I’ve been a part of hundreds of drunk driving accident investigations, for example, and not all of them are at night or early in the morning. People could be on drugs. They might go out to brunch for bottomless mimosas. They might have a drinking problem, go out to a liquor store to buy more alcohol, and continue drinking.
That’s why it’s always important to retrace an intoxicated driver’s steps prior to the crash. Was this just an isolated incident involving a single reckless driver? Or, did a local alcohol provider over-serve the driver and contribute to the accident? It’s important victims and families have as clear a path as possible between them and a proper resolution.
