Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

While it’s at least a positive sign authorities seem to know the driver who was involved in this, it’s a concern anytime someone leaves an accident scene. There’s usually something specific they don’t want authorities to know about, such as warrants, drugs, or drunk driving. This could all just be a misunderstanding, and the driver maybe did everything honestly and sincerely. In my experience, though, there’s often more to these stories than what current statements have let on.
