One thing that concerns me is anytime I see a crash where only one person suffers serious injuries. There can be reasonable explanations for a disparity between injuries, but sometimes it’s a red flag the victim’s safety features didn’t work properly. Did they have a faulty seatbelt? Did an airbag not go off? Did the seat assembly break loose? Does their vehicle not live up to modern safety standards? Likely or not, these things happen, and if authorities aren’t sure to look into these possibilities, they could easily miss something important.
