Olney, IL — June 18, 2024, Aaron Hunt was killed following a motorcycle versus truck accident just before 3:45 a.m. along U.S. Highway 50.
According to authorities, 25-year-old Aaron Hunt, of Olney, was traveling on an eastbound motorcycle on U.S. 50 in the vicinity west of the Elmdale Road intersection when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a westbound 18-wheeler on U.S. 50 attempted to make a left turn into a private drive at an apparently unsafe time, failing to yield the right of way to oncoming eastbound traffic. This resulted in a collision between the motorcycle and the 18-wheeler. Hunt suffered reportedly fatal injuries as a result of the wreck and was declared deceased at the scene.
